Cheryl Hunter was born and raised in the remote Colorado Rocky Mountains. She is a cowgirl who grew up on a horse ranch, training horses and riding rodeo. Her family’s ranch was so isolated that looking out from her home there were no signs of civilization whatsoever. While she felt it was an idyllic and magical upbringing, Cheryl longed to be where other people were, and for the opportunity to have her life make the biggest difference possible, so she left the mountains for the city.
Today, Cheryl is an educator, author, speaker and high-performance coach. She comes at her work with a multi-pronged approach, having merged seemingly divergent careers around one idea: that a simple story, well told and presented, has the power to change people’s lives.
Cheryl has personally coached and led personal development seminars for over 86,000 people since 1995, and has been responsible for the delivery, customer satisfaction and training of course leaders for programs involving the participation of nearly a quarter of a million individuals.
Cheryl brings a global perspective to her coaching, and is comfortable in both domestic and international business environments; Cheryl lived abroad—in England, Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Japan—for nearly a decade. After living for many years in New York City, Cheryl settled in Los Angeles.
Cheryl is an educator who creates and delivers custom programs and trainings for corporations, institutions, and the general public. She delivers her own course curricula at the University of California, Los Angeles; California State University, Long Beach; California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and the Colorado State University system. She also created and developed portions of California State University, Long Beach’s curricula for the MFA Degree Program.
Simultaneously, Cheryl has had a successful career in the entertainment industry that has spanned two decades. She’s worked as a television and feature film writer/producer—under contract with HBO, Paramount Pictures, CBS and NBC—as an actress—on Seinfeld, dozens of national network commercials, and The L Word to name a few—and as an on-air host—for VH1 and National Geographic among others.
A former high-fashion model, Cheryl has been featured in Vogue (American, Italian, and British), Cosmopolitan, O, the Oprah Magazine, and Elle, and she worked for such clients as Wella, Calvin Klein, Clairol and Mercedes. In addition, Cheryl was The Coca Cola Girl, featured worldwide in Coca Cola billboard, magazine, and television campaigns for several years.
Cheryl is still deeply connected to her Colorado mountain roots; she splits her time between her home near the beach in Los Angeles and her family’s ranch in Colorado.
