Yogi Arvind

I had the pleasure of meeting with Yogi Arvind, creator of the 3-day Moksha Festival and the Yoga-Next education movement. We delved into his appreciation for yoga and his relationship with Healers Worldwide. Please enjoy!

HWW:
Good Morning Arvind! Let’s get right into it. Please tell me about yourself and your connection to Yoga..
Yogi Arvind:
I am an entrepreneur, yoga practitioner and yoga teacher with a deep interest in and devotion to Spirituality, with yoga being the spiritual path. I found yoga 30 years ago, and have always been deeply moved by the philosophical aspects of this practice. I have been living in Los Angeles for the past 9-years, and began creating yoga-related events to help others reach their spiritual practice through yoga as I have for myself. It is important for me to express that yoga is not a religion, and it is not merely a way to stay physically fit through Asana. Yoga is a universal practice of Self-Realization, and it is my purpose to spread this knowledge through Los Angeles and beyond.

HWW:
The Moksha Festival is an event of your creation, now in it’s third year.
Yogi Arvind:
Yes, the 3rd annual Moksha Festival, A Pilgrimage to your Soul, is coming up this July 12-14, 2013, in Topanga Canyon, CA. We are very excited to bring to our guests a 3-day celebration of wellness, spiritual expansion and conscious living through workshops in Yoga and Ayurveda, Sacred Music performance and delicious, healthy food. Moksha is a living platform created to remind people about the luminous nature of yoga. At Moksha, we unite different yoga traditions and bring together people of spiritual faith, creating an atmosphere of wholeness for all in attendance.

HWW:
What keeps you practicing yoga?
Yogi Arvind:
Every time I do my yoga practice of Asana, Breathwork, Pranayama and Mantras, my level of consciousness goes just a little bit up from when I started. I experience myself growing spiritually, and I am able to raise myself from the mundane problems encountered in day-to-day life. I become more tolerant to people in the world, and learn to love others a little more. This is why I keep practicing yoga.

HWW:
I hear you have recently formed an alliance with Healers Worldwide in preparation for The First Osher Gathering, a celebration of healing, gratitude and awakening, coming up this May 11th, 2013…
Yogi Arvind:
Yes, we are proud to have Healers Worldwide as an Ambassador of Moksha Festival, as we are equally excited to Sponsor their up-coming event, The First Osher Gathering. The Founder of Healers Worldwide, Ilan Mandel, and I share a common vision. My intention of offering yoga to people as a universal practice are directly in alignment with Ilan’s intention for offering healing to people through a supportive network. We both support people on their journey to self-realization.

HWW:
What are your thoughts about Healers Worldwide?
Yogi Arvind:
I see Healers Worldwide as a solid platform for Healers to come together and support one another on their journeys. Though Healers have different paths and styles, there is a fundamental philosophy behind the Healing Arts that cannot be ignored. As long as practitioners are committed to the common philosophy, they will not lose their way in the path of healing. Healers Worldwide is the support system for Healers to network and learn methods to help each other.

Blessed Love <3 Vedete
